There are about 30 martial artists decided to get together to train in advanced techniques. They decided to meet at the Stevens Taekwondo in Wisconsin. The meeting was rather significant as instructors as well as owners of black belts decided to improve their experience in releases and escapes with the help of impacting the pressure sensitive nerve areas. Three Grandmasters took part in this seminar and they showed a variety of techniques that can be used in different life situations.
The reaction of a martial artist should be the same every time when a situation appears to be similar when training. But any person knows that the situation may be different and no one can illustrate the same circumstances that can happen in the street. The most important thing in training is to learn a technique that can be used in different situations.
Besides, your reaction plays a great role and any martial artist will need to devote a lot of time to practicing this reaction. One of the Grandmasters of this seminar appeared to be Grandmaster Fred Carsky who has a great experience in law enforcement working as a security consultant. According to his words, most of the situations when you need to apply your reaction happen during an interview and the most effective things to use are holds and escapes.
Our reaction is commonly based on our fear and to learn the association, it is recommended to read “The Gift of Fear” by Gavin DeBecker. The secret of any reaction is included into simplicity and stance that can be realized with the help of sharp and quick moves. The seminar appeared to be rather popular and was attended by students of Stevens Taekwondo Academy, Wisconsin-Stevens Point Taekwondo Club.
