Mixed Martial Arts to Come to New York

It is just New York where mixed martial arts is illegal but there are a lot of supporters of this sport in the state Senate. That is why the legislation in favor of this sport has recently been passed. As a result, if the upper and lower houses sign this legislation, a lot of fans of mixed martial arts will be able to enjoy fights in New York. Some people consider that making martial arts fights illegal is a great financial loss for the state.

At the same time, a companion bill stays unattached since it was presented in January. The only argument against legalizing martial arts fights is that they are not supported with a lot of people any more. People do not want to see this combat sport and the whole world does not recognize it to be useful.

People are against violence and state that no skills are needed to perform those fights. Supporters of mixed martial arts confirm that only well trained athletes may participate in those fights and as a result it is a sport but not a fight in the street.

Legalizing this sort of sport will provide economic benefits for the state in the form of tax revenues and fights would be more professional and safer. Local businesses will benefit from this sport as economic activities in this area would be boosted. Holding championships in New York will make a lot of people travel across state lines and no one will stay unsatisfied. Another reason to stop legalizing martial arts fights is that athletes taking part in those fights are not required to take blood testing. There are a lot of things to be more regulated and athletes should have the needed protection as well as amateur fighting is more violent.
